MRO and Streamline Health Enter Mutual Referral Agreement

Integrated document workflow and shared-service ROI companies synergize technology and management of medical provider processes

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – June 03, 2010 – MRO Corp., a leading provider of disclosure management applications and services for healthcare organizations, today announced an agreement with Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: STRM) of Cincinnati, Ohio to provide integrated document workflow and release-of-information (ROI) processing for healthcare organizations.

“MRO continues to play a key role in assisting hospital and health systems through the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program and is working with national associations like the AHA make the data collection process more fluid,” said John Walton, vice president, sales and marketing, MRO. “This advanced compatibility provides our hospital customers the ability to convey RAC reporting and transactions directly to the AHA on a quarterly basis – paving the way for better awareness and advocacy in the future.”

Audit Tracker Online expands the functionalities of traditional RAC software to allow healthcare providers to manage incoming medical record requests for all types of payer audits. While RAC process management has been a recent focus for hospital administrators, the new software from MRO will manage the tracking and reporting processes of other payer audits, including private payers, quality improvement organizations and other Medicare- and Medicaid-based audits.

The customizable software manages patient information, workflow, correspondence, audit determinations, various stages of appeals processes, including secondary record shipments and supporting appeals documentation, deadlines and documents in one central, secure location. In addition to tracking all aspects of audit processes, Audit Tracker Online creates detailed trend analyses, identifying steps that will allow providers to enhance the claims process and improve clinical and financial information in an effort to avoid future audits.

AHA developed the RACTrac web-based survey in an effort to collect RAC information from America's hospitals on a quarterly basis. Data collection begins in January for organizations that experienced RAC activity in 2009 and will be expanded as RAC activity ramps up throughout 2010. RACTrac will allow the AHA to identify trends in reasons for denials across regions and at the national level. This information will then be used to educate the field, CMS and Congress on changes needed to the program.
